Ages 3-6

The creative Pace Preschool Curriculum stimulates a young child’s innate interest in music through rhythmic activities, singing, creative movement, drama, and piano playing.

Young children work in small groups to experience and explore music as they gradually master musical fundamentals and piano skills. Research confirms the correlation between the early keyboard experience and the development of higher-level thinking skills.

Objectives of the Pace Preschool Curriculum are:

• Begin the process of “thinking musically” through an awareness of hearing similarities and differences.
• Help the student become more expressive through a sensitivity to musical sounds
• Begin the development of physical coordination necessary for good musical performance
• Initiate the process of eye, ear and finger coordination basic to reading notation at the piano
• Develop the creative potential of each child through musical improvisation
• Instill a love for music
