Age: 5-6
Class Size: Limited to Six
Class Time: Weekly, 45-Minutes
Rhythm and Rhymes offers children the opportunity to master the following musical concepts and skills necessary for success at the advancing levels:
- technique
- keyboard geography
- ear training
- rhythm
- reading
- improvisation
Students learn to read and perform short keyboard melodies in a friendly, open atmosphere. The focus is strengthening their innate sense of rhythm and the understanding of melodic direction. The songs and games have been chosen for their “fun” value as well as their ability to teach reading and technical skills.
Frequent informal piano sharing times at home are encouraged to instill practice habits.
